Birthday Visit to the Museum

We celebrated Jacoby's birthday as a family by going for a visit to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. We spent time in the prehistoric area to see all of the dinosaurs and even got to see paleontologists working on projects (Jacoby wore his paleontologist vest for the occasion). The boys loved it and we had a great time. We finished celebrating with an ice cream cookie cake. We're so proud to have a 4-year old!

The next week is going to be busy as we get ready for Morgan and Justin's birthdays and the arrival of Grandma Pam, Grandpa Bill, Aunt Megan, and Uncle Mark. Morgan also has a field trip with his class to a horse training facility, which he informed his teachers that he would be riding the horses during their visit!

Notable quotes from the week:
Jacoby on the way home from school: "When I'm 5, I can drive the car."
And after I told him that would definitely not be the case: "When I'm 34, I will ride a really big bike!"

Jacoby talking about our visitors: "Is Uncle Mark a nice guy?" M: "Yes, but I bet he'll want to play with your dinosaurs." J: "I want to play dinosaurs with Aunt Megan."

Very excited to be at the museum

T-Rex--our favorite dinosaur right now

Some sort of nasty ancient sea creature

More prehistoric creatures

Mammoth--another one of our favorites

Jacoby knew the names of many of the dinosaurs we saw

Watching the paleontologists working

Visiting the wildlife exhibits

Digging for dinosaur bones in the Discovery Zone

Diplodocus

Allosaurus trying to eat a Stegosaurus and her babies

Jacoby's cake: giant chocolate chip cookies with homemade mint ice cream

Yummy!
