Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas and hope all of you did as well!

Christmas Eve was a quiet day at home together. We went to a candlelight Christmas service at church with our friends. The boys enjoyed the service, and everyone thought they were as cute as can be as Jacoby marched through the church wearing his Santa hat and saying "Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas!" to everyone he saw. Our friends joined us back home that evening for cookie decorating and apple cider. The kids had a great time and were so excited about Christmas. We watched the "Little Drummer Boy" together, which is a great Christmas classic that we discovered this year. After bedtime Justin and I began assembling some of the boys' gifts: a mini trampoline from Mommy & Daddy and a play kitchen from Grandma Pam & Grandpa Bill. It was a little more work than we had anticipated, but well worth the effort.

Christmas Day began bright and early with two very excited boys. They started bouncing on the trampoline as soon as they saw it and the kitchen was a huge hit. We had Christmas cinnamon rolls and then began opening presents. All of our family showered us generously with gifts and the boys had a great time opening their presents and discovering new treasures. We spent half the day in our pjs playing with new things, eating yummy Christmas food, talking with our families via web cam, and enjoying our time together as a family. It was a wonderful holiday for us.

We've spent the last couple of days playing and playing, going for walks, watching videos, and hanging out together. Today is the first day that the boys played with their trucks--a 2-day hiatus is the longest they've ever gone without their trucks! We also reclaimed the house today and put away our Christmas things. The boys said good-bye to our lovely tree and also made sure that their gifts weren't going to be put away with the Christmas stuff. (: Justin helps the boys practice their jumping--it's a great physical activity and so far we haven't had to put helmets on them.

We're looking forward to a quiet week ahead and the ringing in of 2011!
