A Great Gift

I thought a mid-week post was warranted because of Justin's great news: he passed his first comprehensive exam! All of the hard work and effort over the past 4 or 5 months finally paid off, and his professor said it was a high-quality exam. For Justin and me, this is probably just about the greatest Christmas gift we could ask for this year. Two exams and one dissertation left to go!

We had a wonderful time at Zoo Lights on Monday. All 5 kids were taken in by all of the pretty lights, and I think they just really enjoyed being outside in the dark. You'll have to excuse my crazy pictures. While I'd like to blame it on our camera, I'm sure most of it was due to operator error.

We had a wonderful visit with Uncle Jared. He is an awesome uncle, always jumping right in to help with whatever is needed and the boys love him very much. We always enjoy his visits. He and Justin had a good time skiing up at Winter Park while he was here.

I also just have to say that being on vacation + being at home for vacation = a very happy Mommy. I'm in heaven having almost two weeks off at home with my family.

Justin is currently doing a tumbling/gymnastics session with the boys. We'll see who ends up crying first. (:

We went shopping for groceries today and played at the park. Our weather is chilly with lots of sunshine. We're not expecting a winter wonderland anytime this week.
